Why dive here
With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Holborough Lake offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
Holborough Lake offers a straightforward inland dive, good for getting wet and practicing skills. You’ll find a few sunken boats and other training platforms to navigate around. Visibility can vary, as with most lakes, but it’s generally a calm environment, making it a solid choice for newer divers or those refreshing their certifications. It’s not a site for spotting exotic creatures, but it serves its purpose well as a local training ground.
