IKEDA - Cornwall & Devon
The IKEDA wreck sits upright at 25 metres, a proper big metal beast sunk by a German U-boat in 1918. She’s a huge vessel, over 120 metres long, which means you won’t see it all in one dive. Expect a fair amount of structural integrity still there, with plenty of entry points for those with the right training and gear; otherwise, just exploring the decks and superstructure offers loads to see. Conger eels are a common sight, tucked into nooks, and you’ll often find dogfish resting on the sand nearby. It’s a dive for those who appreciate history and a bit of a current, often a good drift.
