JUENE MARIE - Cornwall & Devon

The Jeune Marie, off the coast of Cornwall, is a proper old-school wreck dive. We love this site for its history, dating back to 1884. You’ll drop down onto the remnants of a wooden sailing vessel, now well-broken but still offering plenty to explore. We’re talking ribs, decking, and scattered cargo peeking out from the sand, all carpeted in the kind of colourful anemones and sponges you expect from a long-lost wreck in these waters. Visibility can be a bit of a gamble here, like most UK diving, but on a good day, the light filtering through the green water gives it a really atmospheric feel. Keep your eyes peeled for conger eels tucked into any crevices – they’re masters of camouflage here. It’s a shallow dive, around 20 metres, so you get a decent bottom time, which we always appreciate for really soaking in the details. It's a fantastic site for anyone who enjoys history with their diving, and doesn't mind a bit of rummaging around a genuine piece of maritime heritage.
