KARANTEZ AR NOR - Cornwall & Devon

The Karantez ar Nor, an 11-meter fishing vessel, went down in December 2004, and what a fantastic dive she's become in the years since. Sitting upright at 32 meters, she’s small enough to properly explore on a single dive, yet still offers plenty of nooks and crannies to poke your head into. We often find ourselves peering into the wheelhouse, imagining the last moments before she slipped beneath the waves. It’s the current that often dictates the dive here; pick a slack tide and you'll have a gentle drift over the deck, making it easy to spot the dogfish tucked under plating or the squat lobsters clinging to the structure. Head down the shot line and you’re immediately greeted by the resident bib and pollack shoals, swirling around the mast. We particularly love the way the light filters through the superstructure on a sunny day, illuminating the anemones that have colonised every surface. It’s a great dive for anyone comfortable with the depth and happy to spend time really getting to know a smaller wreck.
