LADY DRUSIE - Cornwall & Devon

The Lady Drusie, off the Cornish coast, is one of those wrecks that just hits different. We love it because it’s so intact, sitting upright at a comfortable 16 metres, making it perfect for a long bottom time. You drop down, and suddenly this whole ship just materialises out of the green, a proper skeleton of a vessel that feels like a time capsule. What you'll find here is a genuine piece of history, sunk by a mine in 1940, and now it’s absolutely bursting with life. Crabs scuttle in every crevice, big lobsters peek from beneath plates of steel, and the deck often has a resident school of pollack swirling above it. We'd suggest checking the tide for slack water; it makes navigating the deeper hold and the stern section much easier. The visibility can be a proper Cornish pea-souper sometimes, but on a good day, when the sun filters down, it’s just magical exploring the various compartments. This site really suits divers who appreciate historical wrecks and aren't afraid of a bit of gloom, as the rewards are always worth it.
