Lady Maureen - Cornwall & Devon

The Lady Maureen isn't just another wreck; it's a fresh canvas, a brand-new home for the ocean in Cornwall. Sunk intentionally in April 2024, it’s already drawing interest, and for good reason. At 29 metres, it’s a good depth for advanced divers looking for something a bit different from the usual, much older wrecks around here. We love a site where you can see the marine life take hold from day one, and the Lady Maureen is perfect for that, though it's still early days. When we dived it a few months after sinking, the wheelhouse was still intact, the mast stood proud, and you could make out all the details of a working fishing vessel, not just a pile of twisted metal. It’s got that intact character that’s hard to beat. We found dabs and plaice already settling into the sand nearby, and juvenile pollack darting through the superstructure. Our tip: keep an eye on how the growth progresses over the next few years; it's going to be fascinating to watch. For now, it’s a brilliant opportunity to see a modern wreck in its infancy, a real living laboratory. It’s a site for divers who appreciate the story of a wreck as much as the corals.
