Diving the Lamb? in Cornwall offers a fascinating glimpse into maritime history, even if it’s more about the bones of a wreck than a full ship. This 1801 Bristol Packet, lost off Minehead in 1808, presents as scattered timber remains, mostly pine, spread across the seabed. What it lacks in intact structure, it makes up for in atmosphere and the marine life that now calls these historical fragments home. We often find the timbers provide perfect shelter for crabs, blennies, and small wrasse, tucked into the crevices. It’s a site for those who appreciate history and the slow reclamation of man-made objects by nature, rather than grand structural dives.
