Lil Boat - Cornwall & Devon

Okay, so you’re thinking about diving the Lil Boat. Look, it’s a fairly new wreck, only going down in May 2023, but it’s already got a real charm. Sitting upright at 16 metres, this pleasure craft is completely intact, making it a fantastic little training ground or a relaxed second dive. We’ve found the stern deck provides a nice, easy entry point for penetration practice, and you can swim through the cabin – careful not to stir up the silt, of course. What we really love about Lil Boat is how quickly the local critters have made it home. Already, you’ll find iridescent snakelocks anemones clinging to the railings, their tentacles waving in the gentle surge. Keep an eye out for velvet swimming crabs scuttling over the deck and inquisitive pollack darting in and out of the cabin windows. It’s a wonderfully accessible wreck, often with good visibility, making it perfect for those wanting to get comfortable with wreck diving without any heavy currents or intimidating depths. We often pair it with a deeper drift dive, using Lil Boat as a chill decompression stop.
