LISA MARIA - Cornwall & Devon

The Lisa Maria, a small fishing vessel that went down in 1993, is a real favourite of ours for a reason. At 43 metres, she’s a proper technical dive, and while she’s not huge at under 10 metres long, that depth means you’ll often find yourself in near-perfect visibility, especially compared to some of the shallower sites around here. Drop down and the first thing you notice is how intact she is; considering the storms these waters see, it’s always a surprise. We love exploring the wheelhouse, though it’s a tight squeeze, and the propeller is still there, usually swarming with juvenile pollock. The real draw for us, though, is the anemones. They carpet every surface, especially the deck winches, in reds and oranges so bright they almost glow in your torch beam. You’ll spend most of your bottom time just watching them pulse. This site is perfect for advanced divers looking for a challenging but incredibly rewarding wreck dive, one where the marine life has truly reclaimed its own.
