LST (POSSIBLY) - Cornwall & Devon

The LST (POSSIBLY) is one of those frustrating, brilliant dives we keep coming back to. We call it "possibly" because its identity is still debated, but whatever its name, this Mulberry unit vessel, likely a Landing Ship Tank, holds a proper chunk of history. It's not a deep dive, sitting at 19 metres, but the sheer scale of the wreck is impressive. The LST is now a jagged landscape of twisted metal, with plenty of entry points if you’re comfortable with overhead environments. We love poking around the hold, imagining the equipment it once carried. The structure itself has become a home for conger eels, and you'll spot them peering out from every dark nook. Dogfish often rest on the sand nearby, almost perfectly camouflaged. We’d suggest diving this one on a slack tide, otherwise the current can really pull through the wreck, making exploration a lot more challenging. Visibility can be hit or miss – it is the UK, after all – but even on murkier days, the atmosphere inside the wreck is incredible. It’s a dive for those who appreciate a bit of mystery and enjoy a good rummage around a significant piece of wartime history.
