MAKO - Cornwall & Devon
The MAKO, a yacht that went down after a fire in 1976, rests at 41 metres off the coast of Cornwall. While it’s not an intact vessel, the scattered wreckage provides plenty of interesting nooks and crannies to explore. We’ve seen conger eels make their homes in the larger sections of debris, and the metalwork itself is often draped in dead man's fingers. It’s a dive for those comfortable with deeper profiles and a bit of current, offering a different flavour of wreck diving than some of the more famous, larger ships. The visibility here can be hit or miss, so check local conditions before you head out.
