Why dive here
With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Martins Haven offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
Martins Haven offers a typical UK temperate water dive, often sheltered from the prevailing swells. You’ll find kelp forests closer to shore, giving way to rocky reefs dotted with anemones and the occasional crab or lobster. Visibility here can vary quite a bit, but on a good day, it’s a pleasant spot for newer divers looking to practice skills without strong currents. It’s a reliable choice when other sites are blown out.
