MICHELLE - Cornwall & Devon

The *Michelle* is one of those wrecks we keep coming back to, especially if we’re looking for a relaxed dive with plenty to see. Sitting upright and intact in just 14 metres, it’s an ideal site for anyone looking to spend some real time exploring a wreck without worrying about deep stops or decompression. We love poking around the wheelhouse, still relatively open, where you can often spot spider crabs clambering over the controls. What really makes the *Michelle* special, though, is the sheer density of life that has moved in. The hull is absolutely covered in dead man’s fingers, glowing orange and white even on a grey day. Look closely, and you'll find velvet swimming crabs tucked into every crevice and small blennies darting between the plates. We’ve had some cracking dives here, with schools of juvenile pollock swirling around the mast, and on a good day, the visibility can stretch to 10 metres, giving you a clear view of the whole vessel. It’s a proper little time capsule under the waves, perfect for a long, unhurried bottom time.
