Why dive here
With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - NAIAD offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
The NAIAD wreck sits at 41 metres off the Cornwall and Devon coast, a solid dive for those comfortable with deeper UK waters. She went down in 1968, a cutter that was being towed when the sea got the better of her. What you’ll find now is a largely intact hull, settled upright, providing plenty of structure for exploration. We’ve seen good-sized conger eels making their homes in the deeper sections, and plenty of bib and pollack darting around the superstructure. It's a proper wreck dive, best suited for experienced divers looking to spend some quality bottom time with a piece of maritime history.
