NIMBLE - Cornwall & Devon

The Nimble isn't about grand scale, it's about intimacy and atmosphere, a real standout in the UK's wreck diving scene. This small fishing vessel, just 7 metres long, went down back in '96 and now rests upright at a comfortable 10 metres. We love how accessible it is, perfect for divers who want to spend some real time exploring without worrying about bottom time. Slide down the anchor line and you'll find her remarkably intact, her wheelhouse still offers a glimpse into a working boat, though now it's home to some seriously chunky spider crabs. We've often seen dogfish tucked away in the shadows, and schools of juvenile pollack shimmer around the mast. The ambient light here, filtering through the often greenish Cornish water, gives the Nimble a slightly eerie, beautiful feel. It’s not a site for spotting pelagics, but for getting up close and personal with a slice of local history and the smaller, hardier creatures of the Channel. Our tip? Go at slack water on a calm day; the visibility improves dramatically.
