PAMELA S - Cornwall & Devon

The Pamela S, a small fishing trawler, went down in 2006, and what we’re left with is a surprisingly engaging wreck at just 6 metres. It’s an ideal spot for those newer to wreck diving or anyone who fancies a relaxed shallow potter with plenty to see. The wreck itself is relatively intact; you can still make out the wheelhouse, and the mast usually points towards the surface, a good reference. We love how quickly this vessel has been colonised. You’ll find plenty of life tucked into every crevice. Dogfish often rest in the sand nearby, and we’ve seen conger eels peering out from deeper sections of the hull. The deck area is draped in plumose anemones, their white tentacles swaying gently with the surge, creating a stark contrast against the dark metal. We’d suggest a calm day for the best visibility, as any swell can really stir things up at this depth. It’s a site that rewards slow exploration, looking into every nook. Bring a torch; you’ll want to peer into the shadowed corners.
