PASCAL JEANNE MARIE - Cornwall & Devon

The Pascal Jeanne Marie sits upright, a trawler caught mid-Atlantic like it’s still working, just a lot deeper now. We love diving a wreck that feels intact, even after all these years. Drop down and you’ll find her mast still stands proud, pointing towards the surface as if she’s trying to send one last signal. The stern is our favourite spot, often swarming with small bib and pollack darting in and out of the rusted plating. You can poke your head into the wheelhouse, if you’re careful, and imagine the last moments before she went down in ’86. It’s a site that really comes alive when there’s a bit of ambient light filtering through; those shafts of green can make the whole place feel incredibly atmospheric. Keep an eye out for dogfish tucked into the sand nearby, and the occasional conger eel peering from deeper crevices. This wreck is best suited for those comfortable with deeper dives and who appreciate the silent history of a vessel lost at sea. It’s not about flashy colours here, but the stark beauty of metal reclaimed by the ocean.
