PERRA - Cornwall & Devon
The Perra is a steamship with a bit of a story, sunk by a German submarine back in 1916. Lying at 60 metres, this is definitely one for the experienced tech divers, well outside recreational limits. You’ll find her around 15 miles north of the Casquets, a journey from Bilbao to Calais cut short. While the wreck itself is showing its age, the structure provides plenty of nooks and crannies for resident conger eels and lobsters. Visibility here can be a bit of a gamble, but on a good day, the low light penetration gives the whole site a rather atmospheric feel.
