Perry Ledge - Cornwall & Devon
Shag Rock, out in the Straits of Gubal, always makes for an interesting dive. You’re here for the SS Kingston, a cargo steamer that hit the reef back in 1881. She sits upright, pretty much intact, with the stern in around 15 metres and the bow shallower, almost breaking the surface. We usually start at the deeper end, heading into the engine room which is still very accessible. The coral growth on the wreck is impressive; we've seen everything from schooling fusiliers to the occasional inquisitive bottlenose dolphin passing through. It’s a solid wreck dive without being overly challenging, good for advanced open water divers looking for a bit of history and a decent reef interaction.
