PRUTHREE - Cornwall & Devon

The *Pruthree* is one of those Cornish wrecks that really sticks with you. She was a steel sailing vessel, carrying timber when she ran aground near Quenard Point back in ’81. We love that you can still feel the history here, even with the sea steadily reclaiming her. She sits upright, broken into two main sections, which makes for some fantastic swim-throughs if you're careful and the swell isn't too strong. Our favourite part is navigating the stern section; you can often push through where the masts would have been, feeling the water surge gently around you. Visibility here can be hit or miss, typical for Cornwall, but on a good day, the light filtering through the gaps in the hull is incredible. Expect to see plenty of pollack darting through the structure, conger eels tucked into the darker recesses, and an impressive carpeting of anemones and dead man’s fingers covering the metalwork. It’s a site that rewards multiple dives, revealing new nooks and crannies each time. Perfect for intermediate divers comfortable in moderate currents and with a good sense of wreck penetration.
