SANDFLY - Cornwall & Devon
The Sandfly offers a shallow, accessible wreck dive off Kelsey Head, a good choice for newer wreck enthusiasts or divers looking for a relaxed second dive. Sunk in 1920, this steamship lies in about 10 meters, often with a mast breaking the surface, which makes finding it simple. The wreck itself is quite broken up, but you can still pick out sections of the hull and machinery, now home to plenty of wrasse and blennies darting between the metalwork. We often find spider crabs tucked into crevices, and if the visibility is playing ball, it’s a pleasant potter around a bit of Cornish maritime history.
