SEBASTIAN LAURENT - Cornwall & Devon

The *Sebastian Laurent* isn't one of those massive wrecks you spend a whole day on, but for a shallower dive in Cornwall, it delivers. We love it because it’s a proper little trawler, sunk deliberately in 1987, and it’s completely upright. You can spend a good chunk of a no-decompression dive poking around the wheelhouse, seeing the hold, and getting a real feel for a working boat, not just a pile of rubble. What really makes this site special is how quickly the ocean has reclaimed it. Even at 15 metres, the light filters through the kelp swaying above, and the wreck itself is just covered. Expect to see plump wrasse darting in and out of openings, conger eels peeking from beneath plates, and often, dogfish snuggled into sandy patches nearby. It’s a gentle dive, perfect for photographers wanting to capture that classic wreck-meets-reef aesthetic or newer divers getting their first taste of a genuinely intact wreck. We’d suggest going at slack water, as even a mild current can make exploring the tighter spots a bit fiddly.
