SIRDAR - Cornwall & Devon
Diving the Sirdar, a small tug that went down in '87 after a rough day at sea, is a proper plunge into a piece of local history. Sitting upright at 37 metres, it's not a massive wreck, only 15 metres long, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in character. We often find conger eels tucked into its nooks, and a surprising number of wrasse darting around the superstructure. It's a great spot for advanced divers comfortable with depth and looking for a relaxed, though deep, single-dive outing rather than a multi-tank exploration. Just keep an eye on the weather; Cornwall can be choppy.
