SOUTH WESTERN - Cornwall & Devon

Dropping onto the South Western, you’re hitting a piece of history. This old steamship, sunk back in 1918, lies at 34 metres and is a proper exploration dive. The hull is still pretty intact, especially the stern section, and you can still make out the single boiler and parts of the triple expansion engine. We’ve found conger eels tucked into the deeper recesses and plenty of wrasse darting around the superstructure. It’s a good deep wreck for those comfortable with the depth and the often cooler UK water. Best to hit it on slack water, otherwise, the current can make things a bit challenging.
