SS FATFIELD - Cornwall & Devon
The SS Fatfield lies deep, a proper technical dive at 45 metres off the Cornish coast. What was once a steamship is now a solid wreck, settled upright and largely intact, making for some dramatic exploration. We usually find schools of pollock circling the superstructure, and the holds often shelter conger eels, tucked into the gloom. It’s a site that rewards careful planning and good bottom time, perfect for experienced wreck divers looking to penetrate or just take in the scale of a substantial vessel. You’ll want to check the tides; strong currents here can make the descent a bit of a workout.
