ST JOSEPH - Cornwall & Devon
Dropping onto the St. Joseph is a genuine dive into history. This sailing vessel, taken by a submarine in 1918, rests at 52 metres, making it a deeper dive for those comfortable with the depth. The wreck itself is quite broken up, but you can still make out the distinct lines of a sailing ship, with sections of hull and frames offering plenty of nooks. We’ve found conger eels tucked into the darker recesses, and the usual suspects of bib and wrasse flitting over the metalwork. It’s a site for wreck enthusiasts who appreciate the story as much as the structure, definitely one for experienced divers.
