The Gertrude Wreck - Cornwall & Devon
The Gertrude lies off the Devon coast, a solid piece of history now home to plenty of marine activity. It’s a respectable wreck, broken enough to offer swim-throughs and sheltered nooks without feeling too dangerous for those with a bit of wreck experience. We've often found conger eels tucked into the deeper sections, and the metalwork itself is covered in dead man's fingers and anemones. Visibility can be hit or miss in the UK, but on a good day, the light through the deck plating is genuinely atmospheric. It’s a dive we'd recommend for divers comfortable with a chillier UK dive and keen to explore a well-established artificial reef.
