TINE ANDERSON - Cornwall & Devon

The Tine Anderson, just west of Priory Bay, isn’t about depth, it’s about history you can practically touch. This old fishing vessel ran aground back in '69, and she’s a proper low-tide marvel. We love how accessible she is; you can literally wade out and snorkel her, exploring the ribs and plating that poke out of the shallows. What makes her special? It’s the way she blends with the intertidal zone. As the tide recedes, you see the structure of the wreck emerge, barnacle-encrusted and draped in seaweed, feeling the pull of the water around your legs. Even at a metre deep, you'll find crabs scuttling in the shadows, small blennies darting between the metalwork, and anemones clinging to every surface. Our favourite time to visit is on a calm, sunny day when the water is clear enough to see the ghostly outline of the hull beneath the surface. It’s a gentle introduction to wreck diving, perfect for snorkelers or new divers who want to get up close with a piece of maritime past without the need for big gear or deep dives.
