With 176+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue sharks, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - Tywyn offers some of Cornwall & Devon's richest reef diving. Water ranges 10-18°C, warmest July, August, September.
Tywyn offers a classic UK shore dive, accessible from the beach. It’s a good spot for newer divers to get comfortable with temperate water conditions and for experienced divers to shake out the cobwebs. We’ve found decent visibility on calm days, revealing common wrasse, blennies, and crabs scuttling amongst the rocks and kelp. Expect a relaxed dive rather than anything dramatic.
