UNITY - Cornwall & Devon
The UNITY, a trawler resting in Bideford Bay, offers a straightforward wreck dive. At a maximum depth of 8m, it's very accessible, making it a good option for newer wreck divers or those looking for a relaxed outing. We've found the single boiler and triple expansion engine are still distinct features, giving you a real sense of the vessel's past. Despite its "dangerous wreck" classification by Lloyd's, which mostly refers to navigation hazards, the site itself is fairly compact and easy to navigate. Keep an eye out for the local wrasse and crabs that have made the encrusted metal their home – they add a good splash of colour to the metal framework.
