YMS 304 - Cornwall & Devon

The YMS 304 sits in relatively shallow water, just 12 metres down, making it a great option when the weather kicks up a fuss and deeper sites are a no-go. We’ve had some cracking dives here, especially when the light pushes through; the wreck itself is pretty broken up, but you can still make out the general shape of the minesweeper. It’s been down since 1944, so there’s a good layer of life on everything. Expect to see plenty of wrasse darting in and out of the metal, and we’ve often found dogfish tucked away in the more sheltered sections. It’s not a massive wreck, but there’s enough structure for a decent explore, poking around for crabs and lobsters hiding in the crevices. This site is perfect for those days when you just want a relaxed dive with a bit of history, without having to worry about deep stops or heavy currents.
