AZURE - Northumberland & Northeast

Azure, a deliberately sunk fishing vessel off the Northumberland coast, offers a solid wreck dive without being overly challenging. At 18.3 metres long, she’s compact enough to explore thoroughly on a single dive, even with a max depth of 50 metres, which is often beyond recreational limits but makes for an interesting deep dive for those with the training. Stripped before sinking, the internal spaces are open and fairly clear, making for easy penetration for trained divers looking to poke around. Expect to see plenty of local crabs scuttling across the decks and small fish sheltering in the nooks, a common sight on many of the North Sea's artificial reefs. It's a good pick for divers keen on smaller wrecks and exploring the local marine life that makes these structures home.
