Kilkeel Pool - Northumberland & Northeast

Kilkeel Pool is one of those spots we love for a quick, easy dip, particularly when the North Sea is throwing a tantrum. It’s barely two metres deep, a true beginner’s bubble, making it perfect for check-dives or getting comfortable in new kit. We often find small crabs scuttling across the sandy bottom, little blennies peeking from under rocks, and sometimes juvenile flatfish – simple but always engaging. It’s a calm, sheltered introduction to the local ecosystem, best at high tide for an easier entry.
