ROSSALL - Northumberland & Northeast

The Rossall, a barge from the Mersey Docks & Harbour Board, sits in about 15 metres, making it a decent single-dive outing. It’s a broken wreck, but the pieces are substantial enough to hold interest, with plenty of nooks for critters. We’ve found decent lobsters and crabs tucked into the metalwork, alongside blennies and small flatfish. Visibility can be hit or miss, typical for the region, but when it’s good, the structure is quite photogenic. It’s a solid wreck dive for those looking for something local with minimal current.
