SOCRATES - Northumberland & Northeast

The *Socrates* is a sturdy trawler, sitting upright on the seabed off the Northumberland coast. We often find the visibility here can be a bit of a lottery, but when it’s good, the wreck reveals plenty to explore. Her hull is still largely intact, and you can swim through various sections, getting a real sense of her working past. Expect to spot plenty of crabs tucked into crevices and various colourful anemones clinging to the steel. It’s a great dive for anyone looking to spend some time on a solid, explorable wreck without deep penetration, and a rewarding one for macro enthusiasts too.
