With 118+ marine species recorded in the area - including dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales, ocean sunfish (mola mola) and orcas - SY SOL offers some of Northumberland & Northeast's richest wreck diving.
The SY SOL, a fishing vessel sunk in 2022, lies at 32m. It's a relatively new wreck, meaning it's still settling into its new home on the seabed. Expect to see the beginnings of marine growth, with small crabs and juvenile fish starting to colonise the structure. This site suits divers keen to witness a wreck's early stages of transformation into an artificial reef.
