CHARISMA - Scapa Flow, Orkney
The CHARISMA wreck in Scapa Flow isn't about grand scale; it's about the small, intricate details. This fishing vessel, just 6.4 metres long, sits upright and largely intact at a comfortable 10 metres. We love how approachable it is, perfect for divers honing their wreck skills without the pressure of deep dives or complex navigation. You'll find its wheelhouse still largely complete, the fishing gear strewn around almost as if it was just left. Our favourite part is watching the light play through the water, illuminating the vibrant green anenomes and dead man's fingers that have completely engulfed the hull. Look closely and you'll spot tiny gobies darting between the crevices, and butterfish peering out from behind the deck furniture. It’s a beautifully calm dive, often with decent visibility, making it a fantastic second dive or a relaxed introduction to Scapa Flow's underwater history for those not ready for the larger German Fleet wrecks. We'd suggest going at slack water to fully appreciate the stillness.
