With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - EMULOUS II offers some of Scapa Flow, Orkney's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 8-14°C, warmest July, August, September.
The EMULOUS II sits deep in Scapa Flow, a fishing vessel that went down in 1995. At 60 metres, this is definitely a tech dive, requiring careful planning and experience with decompression. We like this site for its solitude; you’re unlikely to share it with many other dive boats. The wreck itself, though not massive at 16.8m, is surprisingly intact, listing slightly to starboard. Expect to see plenty of squat lobsters tucked into crevices, alongside plump dogfish cruising the surrounding seabed. It’s a good option for divers looking for a less-frequented Scapa Flow wreck, offering a genuine sense of exploration.
