With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - ENTERPRISE offers some of Scapa Flow, Orkney's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 8-14°C, warmest July, August, September.
The Enterprise wreck sits in Scapa Flow, another victim of its own industry. This 16.8-meter fishing vessel went down in 1973 after a collision, eventually sinking completely while under tow. She rests upright at 30 meters, and while not one of the massive German fleet wrecks, the Enterprise offers a rewarding exploration for divers who appreciate a coherent, smaller vessel. You can still make out the wheelhouse and the general shape of a working boat, now well-colonised by plumose anemones and various crabs. It's a relaxed dive, usually with manageable currents, making it a good choice if you want to experience a Scapa wreck without the deeper technical demands of the battleships.
