With 140+ marine species recorded in the area - including blue whales, dolphins, dwarf minke whales, humpback whales and ocean sunfish (mola mola) - REMUS offers some of Scapa Flow, Orkney's richest wreck diving. Water ranges 8-14°C, warmest July, August, September.
The *Remus* sits upright at 58 metres in Scapa Flow, a good dive for those comfortable with deeper wrecks. She’s a steamship, sunk in 1918, and remarkably intact given her age. You’ll find the two boilers and triple-expansion engine towards the stern, a distinct feature of her design, and there’s plenty of scope for exploring the hull structure. Visibility can be decent here, but it's cold, so good drysuit skills are a must. We’ve seen a decent amount of life settling on her too, mostly an assortment of anenomes and the occasional curious fish.
