S 136 - Scapa Flow, Orkney
The S 136, a German destroyer, sits shallow in Scapa Flow, making it a solid pick for less experienced wreck divers or those looking for a longer bottom time. At just 7 metres, you can take your time poking around the scattered hull plates and machinery. We've often found small crabs and blennies tucked into the crevices, with wrasse flitting between the rusted metal. It’s a great introduction to Scapa's history without the demands of the deeper blockships. Just keep an eye out for the odd passing leisure boat, especially in summer.
