Wreck of Conqueror 2 - Scapa Flow, Orkney

The MTS Oceanos off Coffee Bay, that's a site we consistently recommend for divers who appreciate a good story with their dive. She went down in 1991, and we find the way she settled, largely intact but on her side, makes for some truly unique exploration. You’ll spend your dive navigating corridors tilted at impossible angles and swimming through cabins that feel like they've been frozen in time. What we particularly love are the sheer numbers of resident fish; the fusiliers often school so densely over the superstructure that they can briefly dim the ambient light. Keep an eye out for the resident dusky groupers, they’re big and not shy, often lurking in the deeper holds. We've also spotted some impressive undulated morays poking out from crevices. It’s a deeper wreck, so this one's for the more experienced divers comfortable with extended bottom times and potential currents, which can pick up here. We'd suggest diving it early in the morning for the best chance of settled conditions.
