Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 101925 - Scapa Flow, Orkney

The Edenmore is one of our favourite Scapa Flow wrecks for a reason. It’s not one of the big German battleships, no, but this little blockade runner, sunk in 1917, has a subtle charm. We love drifting along her deck, imagining the desperate dash she made before being caught. You’ll find her resting on her port side, relatively intact, with the stern particularly well-preserved. Inside the holds, it’s dark, almost spooky, and the light-bulb sea squirts glow faintly on the bulkheads. We often spot common lobsters scuttling away into crevices as we pass. Keep an eye out for the North Sea Tube Anemones, too, they’re surprisingly beautiful against the rust. This is a dive for those who appreciate history and don't need giant machinery to be impressed. It’s a reflective dive, perfect for a quiet afternoon exploration, maybe after a morning on one of the bigger sites. Conditions can be typical Scapa, so slack water is always our recommendation for the best visibility.
