We’re calling this the ‘Unnamed Mystery Wreck’ because, well, that’s exactly what it is. Lost somewhere in the vastness of Scapa Flow, it’s a dive that speaks to the true wreck explorer. You’re dropping into history, feeling the chill of the Orkney waters as you descend onto a metal skeleton that’s been down there for decades. We love the pure adventure of exploring its unknown structure, letting your imagination fill in the gaps of its story. This isn’t about big pelagics or colourful reefs. It’s about the quiet drama of rust and time, with schools of coalfish darting through the superstructure and the occasional inquisitive wrasse peeking from a darkened porthole. We’d suggest a good dive light to really pick out the details, and be prepared for limited visibility – it’s Scapa, not the Red Sea. It’s perfect for those who appreciate the somber beauty of a submerged relic, where every twisted piece of metal tells a silent tale. Our favourite part? The sheer solitude, often you’ll be the only divers on this particular piece of history.

    Safety Notes

Wreck site - avoid penetration without wreck diving certification. Watch for sharp metal and entanglement hazards.

Cold water this month (avg 13°C). Drysuit or thick wetsuit (7mm+) recommended.
