Wreck of Unnamed Shipwreck - Canmore 196038

This "Unnamed Shipwreck" in Scapa Flow, designated Canmore 196038, might not have the grand history of the German High Seas Fleet, but it absolutely holds its own. For us, it’s one of the quiet heroes of the Flow. You’ll drop onto a surprisingly intact hull, often shrouded in that beautiful Scapa green, and immediately feel the weight of its story. We love nosing around the superstructure, picturing the crew, and seeing how the North Sea has claimed it as its own. The lack of an official name often means fewer divers, which is a huge plus. We’ve had dives here where it felt like we were the first to find it, just us and the resident wrasse darting through exposed plating. Look closely and you’ll spot plumose anemones, their white tentacles reaching out from every dark corner, and often some decent-sized pollack lurking in the deeper holds. It’s not about penetration here, it’s about slow exploration and soaking in the atmosphere. This is a site for those who appreciate the subtle beauty of a wreck, not just its size, and it's perfect for a relaxed second dive of the day.
