What really makes the *Almeria* a standout, though, is the sheer density of marine life. This isn't just about big pelagics; it's the smaller, more intimate stuff. Look closely and you'll spot snake blennies peering from crevices and the vibrant reds of beadlet anemones clinging to the metalwork. Oarweed and dulse wave gently in the slight currents, giving the wreck a living, breathing quality. We've often found great skuas diving overhead on the surface interval too, a reminder of Orkney’s wild beauty. Visibility here can be excellent, especially on a calm day with a rising tide; aim for that window if you can. It’s a site that rewards multiple dives, each one revealing a new detail.
