Stacked Hulls - Québec

Stacked Hulls in Québec offers a unique cold-water wreck experience. We're talking about a collection of scuttled barges, deliberately sunk to create an artificial reef. Descending onto the site, you quickly realise the name is spot-on – the hulls are piled on top of each other in places, creating interesting swim-throughs and shadowed nooks. It’s a fantastic spot for lobsters and lingcod, which often peek out from behind rusted bulkheads. Visibility can be variable, as with many Great Lakes sites, but on a good day, the eerie silhouette of the stacked vessels against the green water is quite atmospheric. It’s a site for divers who appreciate the history and structure of a wreck, rather than a vibrant coral scene.
