The Robert Gaskin - Québec

The Robert Gaskin, a wooden schooner resting in the cold waters off Québec, offers a fascinating glimpse into maritime history. We’ve found the bow section to be particularly well-preserved, with its anchor chain still visible and draped in green algae. Visibility here can vary quite a bit, but when it’s good, you’ll spot sculpins darting among the ribs and sometimes a curious harbour seal making a pass. It’s a rewarding dive for those comfortable with cooler temperatures and keen on exploring a piece of the past rather than chasing big pelagics. We’d suggest a thick hood and gloves, even in late summer.
