With 177+ marine species recorded in the area - including barracuda, bull sharks, dolphins, eagle rays and nurse sharks - Herradura offers some of Cozumel's richest reef diving. Water ranges 27-30°C, warmest August, September, October.
Herradura is an interesting drift dive, best suited for those comfortable with a bit of a ride. We often see green morays tucked into the cracks here, along with a good scattering of queen angelfish. The currents can pick up, so it’s a site for divers who enjoy a faster pace and aren't afraid of covering some ground. It's a solid choice for a second dive on a north wall itinerary.
