Media Luna - Cozumel

Pinnacles, just a short boat hop from Barefoot Manta, is a great little site when you want something relaxed but still engaging. It’s not the roaring current dive that Somosomo is known for; think of it more as a tranquil drift or a pleasant potter around. We love the way the three bommies rise from the sandy bottom, the deepest topping out around 18 metres. Glide along the sloping reef wall, then explore the overhangs – we’ve often spotted hanging clams tucked away here. Keep an eye out for the smaller stuff too. We’ve had good luck finding Leopard Hinds lurking and plenty of those tiny blennies, like the Bicolor Blenny and Eye-lash Harptail-Blenny, poking out from the corals. The sandy stretches between the bommies are good for garden eels and the Threespot Righteye Flounder, if you have sharp eyes. This site is a nice break, perfect for a long, unhurried dive, especially if you want to focus on macro life and smaller reef fish without battling strong currents.
